What We Do

We are available to assist individuals with disabilities of any age, birth to 100+, and their families, in removing barriers that limit their access to an independent and fulfilling life. We serve Routt, Moffat, Summit, Rio Blanco, and Grand County to provide four core services at no charge:

  • Independent living skills training
  • Peer support
  • Individual and systems advocacy
  • Information and referral programs

Note: ASL and Spanish language interpreters are available.

Recognizing that people with disabilities and seniors are the best experts on their own needs, all services are consumer controlled which means each client makes their own decisions about what goals they would like to work on, the type of services they would like to receive, and the direction we will take.

Individuals served include those of any age with physical, mobility, sensory, health, learning, intellectual, psychiatric and mental health disabilities including those who are blind, have low vision, deaf, are hard of hearing, or have a traumatic brain injury or autism. Seniors with mobility, vision or hearing loss, or other health challenges are encouraged to contact us. We work with both individuals and families.

NWCCI also provides guidance to employers, educational programs, local government programs including emergency management planners, private businesses and organizations, housing providers, service providers, and churches in creating accessibility for an inclusive community, compliance with the ADA and FHA, disability etiquette, and marketing to the disability community.
