Snowcat Skiing

Stemaboat snowcat skiingOffering full day snowcat skiing and snowboarding trips since 1983, Steamboat Powdercats is Steamboat’s best kept secret. With 10,000 acres of permitted National Forest terrain, their base is located just 20 minutes from the Steamboat ski area on Buffalo Pass. Steamboat Powdercats will get you into the powder even when it hasn’t snowed for a week, or even more important, when it’s dumping and the gondola is closed! Their all inclusive day tours will spoil you rotten. They book their guests by ability level so you and your group will never have to worry about slowing down or entering runs that are above your comfort. That’s right, they even take intermediate skiers and will match the group with mellow, low pressure terrain! They include everything: powder specific skis and snowboard, avalanche beacons, poles, breakfast, lunch, 3 guides per group, a maximum of 12 guests per cat and 8-16 runs per day. Better yet, they have a photographer who tags along for some runs to capture the experience and provide a complimentary disk at the end of the day (perhaps during the post trip beverages).
